Missing Children South Africa is a South African Non-Profit (NPO: 067 095) and Public Benefit Organisation (PBO: 930 034 181). At missingchildren.org.za, one of our main priorities is the privacy of our visitors. This policy sets out what information is collected and recorded, and how it is used.

Information we collect.

The personal information you are asked to provide, and the reasons you are asked to provide it, will be made clear at the point we ask for it.

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information such as your name, email address, phone number, the contents of your message and any attachments, and anything else you choose to provide.

When you complete the Report Now form, we ask for the personal information needed to create the missing person flyer, and the found flyer once the person is located and the case is closed. These flyers are published on our social media platforms to raise awareness of the case, and to inform the public when a person has been found, alive or deceased.

How we use your information.

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, operate and maintain our website
• Improve, personalise and expand our website
• Understand and analyse how you use our website
• Communicate with you, including for support, updates and other information relating to the website
• Send you emails
• Find and prevent fraud

Log files.

We follow a standard procedure of using log files. These log visitors when they visit websites, as part of hosting services' analytics. The information collected includes IP addresses, browser type, internet service provider, date and time stamp, referring and exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks. None of it is linked to personally identifiable information. It is used to analyse trends, administer the site, track movement around the website and gather demographic information.

Children's information.

Adding protection for children using the internet is part of our priority. We encourage parents and guardians to observe, participate in, monitor and guide their children's online activity.

Missing Children South Africa does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13. If you believe your child provided this kind of information on our website, contact us immediately at privacy@missingchildren.org.za and we will make every effort to promptly remove it from our records.

Use of this website.

This website provides information about Missing Children South Africa and a means to report a missing person, request support, contact us and donate. It does not replace the South African Police Service. If someone is missing, report it to the SAPS and call our emergency line on 072 647 7464.

Information you submit.

You agree that the information you submit through this website is accurate to the best of your knowledge, and that you are entitled to share it. When you submit a missing person report, including a photograph, you consent to us using that material to create and distribute an appeal on our social media platforms and through our awareness network.

Donations.

Donations made through this website are processed by third party payment providers. Missing Children South Africa is an approved Public Benefit Organisation (PBO: 930 034 181) and donations are tax deductible. For a Section 18A tax certificate, contact taxcertificate@missingchildren.org.za.

Legal disputes.
